1978 Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Gem Ingot Complete Set of 30 in Leather Case

  

The Official Gem Ingots Collection, issued by the Franklin mint in 1978. Complete set of 30 solid Sterling Silver ingots, each inset with an actual gemstone, and housed within a lockable black leather bound presentation case. The set includes diamonds, rubies and sapphires to name just a few. Each ingot represented a world renowned jeweller and each ingot has a corresponding booklet which has a wealth of information about the gem type, the jeweller and the country of origin. Note however that this set is missing 2 booklets - No.

6: Pink Tourmaline from Paula Properties Int, California & No. 20: Fluorine from Wolfers, Brussels. The ingots are approx 1.75"x1" and each weighs approx. 25 grams, and the complete set weighs 23.3 troy ounces.

A fantastic and valuable set to add to any collection. The outer leather case has some minor signs of age related shelf wear, and the inner tray has some splitting and. Largely due to its age. All 30 ingots are present and in excellent condition, but for a small mark on the Percy Marks ingot, and only 28 of the original 30 info booklets are present.
